About Weedduu Design

Weedduu Design brings authentic Ethiopian traditional clothing to the world. Rooted in Oromo cultural heritage, we work with skilled artisans to create handwoven and hand-embroidered pieces that celebrate our identity through fabric, form, and craft.

Our Story

"Weedduu" is a genre of oral folk poetry in Afaan Oromoo — songs of praise celebrating people, culture, and heritage. We founded this brand with that same spirit: to celebrate the rich textile traditions of Ethiopia and share them with the diaspora and the world. Every piece we sell tells a story — of artisans who have perfected their craft over generations, of patterns that carry cultural meaning, and of a heritage worth celebrating wherever you call home.

Based in Ethiopia and shipping worldwide, we bridge the gap between traditional artisanship and modern fashion — making it easy for you to wear your heritage with pride.

  • Couples' Matching Sets — Coordinated his & hers outfits for weddings and celebrations

Our Craft

Every Weedduu piece features authentic handwoven and embroidered patterns — geometric designs, bold stripes, and cultural motifs that reflect Oromo heritage and Ethiopian artistry. Our artisans use techniques passed down through generations, working with locally sourced cotton and natural materials.
